It is only 25ft high but this easy to reach waterfall is exceptionally beautiful.
As you look down the creek you can see the spacious viewing area for the falls. 
Just across the creek is a decent sized viewing area that provides the best view of the falls. 
Log Hollow Falls has un unmistakable look that is easy to spot.
Deep in the Southern Pisgah National Forest, but easy to get to, is the very beautiful Log Hollow Falls. This isn’t a very high waterfall, only about 25ft, but it is big on the wow factor. It is difficult to describe, but this waterfall is located at a very pretty spot of the forest and is just a very soothing spot to hang out at and relax. This kid friendly spot is only about a 15 minute walk from the trailhead and has almost no elevation change. You would expect this to be a very popular spot but we had the falls all to ourselves on the Saturday we visited Log Hollow Falls. It is also very close to Discovery Falls and the two can be easily combined into one excursion.
The trailhead for Log Hollow Falls is located off Forest Service Road 475B which is called Headwaters Road on some maps. 475B is a long unpaved road that runs from Highway 276 south of the Cradle of Forestry to Forest Service Road 475 down by the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education. You could enter from either but it would be easier and much faster to enter 475B from the North side which is 1 mile south of the Cradle of Forestry. As you are heading south on Highway 276, it is a large and obvious turnoff to the right onto a well maintained unpaved road. Continue driving on this road for about 1 and 1/2 miles until you encounter the trail at the gated FS 5043. It is located right on a sharp left turn where you will see a large informative forest sign. As you are driving on 475B you will pass a few other gated forest roads that are counting down below 5043 and it will feel like you might have passed it. The roads are not in order but don’t worry, you can’t miss the large sign on the side of the road. It is very obvious. This area is remote and there are no restroom facilities at the trailhead. Log Hollow Falls is about 30 minutes from Brevard, North Carolina or about 1 hour from Asheville, North Carolina.
The trailhead starts right at the gate for FS 5053 and is marked as the Seniard Ridge Trail. This is also the trailhead for Discovery Falls which shares much of the same trail with Log Hollow Falls. Please watch the HD Carolina video on Disovery Falls for specific information on this destination.
The trail to Log Hollow Falls is very easy and follows the wide and well maintained forest road to the falls. After walking through a small field, you encounter the first of two well built wood bridges. This first one is where the turnoff is for Discovery Falls but you will stay straight on the forest road trail for about another 5 to 10 minutes of walking until you reach the second bridge. Log Hollow Falls is viewable from the bridge but the best views are going to be about 100ft upstream using the trail just past the bridge on your right. As you approach the water you’ll need to hop a few rocks to get to the base of the falls. This short and easy trail takes you to a spacious and very relaxing area that makes the experience complete. It is almost a magical spot in the forest that compels you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful Log Hollow Falls.
This is an out and back hike so when you have finished enjoying Log Hollow Falls, hike back to the parking area.
